This year PDW has gone global!
We are proud and honoured to announce our collaboration with renowned global architecture practice OMA and Italian based, international furniture brand, UniFor - presenting PRINCIPLES in a highly innovative, interactive and inclusive installation ‘Principles Square’ at Cathedral Square.
Significantly, PDW has been chosen as the first location after Milan, to re-launch the collection composed by more than one hundred elements in various size, from S to XL, configurable in limitless ways.

The square will be closed to the public on March 15th from 3:00 pm due to a private event.

Fishbowl Discussion: Making Design Mainstream
Fishbowl at Principles Square is open to anyone willing to contribute to, or just watch, design debate and conversation. Take a seat and join the discussion or observe from the sidelines. Once you are out of steam, pass your seat to the next contributor to keep the conversation going.
JOIN IN: Design Soap Box
Soap Box is PDW's first open mic format of design conversation. We are proud to present a brilliant line up of design creators, makers, users, admirers and critics. Featuring: Zannah Anderson, Gordon Bateup, Kaila Cicchini, Stirling Fletcher, Rina Freiberg. Soap Boxers will each have 10 minutes on stage, to share with, sync to, or speak at the audience with their content.
Building Civic Architecture in Perth
Presented by OMA + Unifor. What is the process of realizing public buildings in Perth? What are the challenges and the opportunities? OMA Australian Director Paul Jones, and Senior Architects Christopher Hing Fing and James Pierre du Plessis will speak about the experience of realizing the WA Museum Boola Bardip (by Hassell + OMA).
Pecha Kucha: Design event
We are inviting students from all design disciplines to share their work, ideas and stories at PDW’s own Pecha Kucha afternoon. 20 slides x 20 seconds per slide – that’s 6.7 minutes per presentation! Design students - we want to hear from you!
Affinities - Expansions Across Art and Architectural Thought
A presentation by OMA of their ongoing work with PRADA. This live stream event will be the foundation for a diverse panel discussion around the interrelationships between art, architecture, and the built environment.

Presented by OMA + UniFor. Join us at PRINCIPLES Square for the Public Screening of "Point of Origin" by Frans Parthesius. A challenging site sparks the interest of well-known architect and founding partner of OMA Rem Koolhaas. Slowly, the house reveals itself as the film reveals clues about Koolhaas's process.
PDW Rolling Interviews
We have invited PDW participants to partake in an interview with a twist. They will be the subject of a short, sharp 5-minute interview about their event and PDW contribution before swapping from interviewee to interviewer. Next participant steps up and we keep rolling until we are done! This will be a fun and engaging showcase of what PDW is all about.
