join in!

Hello

LAST WEEK WE ANNOUNCED OUR 2024 COLLABORATION WITH GLOBAL DESIGN LEADERS OMA + UNIFOR.

NOW WE ARE INVITING YOU TO BE A PART OF IT …

Renowned global architecture practice OMA in partnership with Italian based, international furniture brand, UniFor are presenting a bespoke installation ‘Principles Square’ at Cathedral Square for Perth Design Week 2024.

In case you missed our news last week, details via link here.

As part of the program platFORMed is helping us put together a series of interactive events at Principles Square to encourage, and enable, participation.

HERE IS HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED!

Rolling Interviews
Thursday 14 March 2024, from 10.30am

We are inviting all PDW participants to promote their event in a short, sharp 5 minute interview on Day One of the Festival. But there’s a twist. At the end of your interview you swap from being the interviewee to the interviewer – next person steps up – and we keep rolling until we’re done! It will be a fun and informal way to showcase what PDW is all about. Are you a part of the PDW 2024 program and want to promote your event? Here’s your chance.

Pecha Kucha - Design Student event
Sunday 17 March 2024, from 3.30pm

We are inviting students from all design disciplines to share their work, ideas and stories at PDW’s own Pecha Kucha afternoon. 20 slides x 20 seconds per slide – that’s 6.7 minutes per presentation! Design students - we want to hear from you!

Design Soap Box
Monday 18 March 2024, from 3.00pm

Do you have a burning desire to speak about a design related topic and never had the right stage? Soap Box at Principles Square might be your calling. We are seeking design creators, makers, users, students, admirers and critics in PDW’s first open mic format of design conversation. Soap Boxers will each have 10 minutes on stage, to share with, sync to, or speak at the audience with their content.

Fishbowl Discussion - Making Design Mainstream
Tuesday 19 March 2024, from 3.30pm

All things created require design. How wide reaching is this understanding? Who decides what is good or bad design? Is design an elitist sport where a select few are allowed to play? How do we make good design more mainstream? Fishbowl at Principles Square is open to anyone willing to contribute to, or just watch, design debate and conversation. Take a seat and join the discussion or observe from the sidelines. Once you are out of steam, pass your seat to the next contributor to keep the conversation going. Design isn’t static, and this conversation won’t be either. Let us know if you want to be a part of it.

To be a part of any, or all, of these events at Principles Square please contact Eugene at events@perthdesignweek.com

We are looking forward to seeing you at Perth Design Week 2024!

Best wishes
