Leah Bennet, founder of Leah Paige Designs, passionately integrates Aboriginal culture into interior and furniture design. A proud Wudjari Noongar woman with ties to Ravensthorpe, Leah discovered her cultural roots at 12, fostering a deep connection to her heritage. Knowing that her story isn't uncommon, she has dedicated her design business to celebrating Aboriginal culture, fostering understanding and emotional ties. Despite challenges, Leah finds great reward in connecting with her community, discovering family, and listening to Elders' wisdom. She envisions a future where cultural integration is prioritised throughout all project phases, believing in design's power to transform perspectives.

Biophilic Lighting Design: Mimicking Natural Light

Speaker: Brad Swansen, Unios

Biophilic lighting is a lighting design concept that seeks to mimic the natural light patterns and cycles experienced in nature, in an indoor setting. The goal is to create a harmonious and healthier environment that connects people with the natural world and promotes well-being. This type of lighting typically involves adjusting van array of factors to align with the body’s circadian rhythm, the 24-hour biological cycle that regulates sleep and wakefulness in living organisms.

About Brad:

Brad has worked within the electrical and lighting industry for almost 20 years and is captivated by how Lighting can affect the spaces we live work and play! Educating people and providing them with a better understanding of lighting is what drives him. Through his current role as Head of BD for ANZ with Unios, he has the opportunity to speak across the country, helping people place a higher value and importance on artificial lighting.

In 2016, she moved to Perth, Australia, where she continued to carve her niche in the design industry. Today, Giulia is a versatile designer with a focus on bespoke furniture and innovative interior solutions. Her multidisciplinary approach reflects a rich background, and she is dedicated to crafting meaningful spaces that evoke emotion, tell stories, and inspire connection.
