PDW 2026: Meet the Locals event at HQ
On Friday, we heard from the exhibitors in a fun and interactive event at HQ. A fast-paced activation designed to surface ideas, stories and viewpoints from Local HQ, participants took turns in a series of short, five-minute interviews focused on their installation and their broader contribution to design. At the end of each interview, roles swap: the interviewee becomes the interviewer, and the next participant stepped in.
Here's some of the key takeouts from our exhibitors:
District
"'Building BLOQS: The Future Workplace', Presented by District & Elements is an exhibition focused on adaptability in the workplace, in an effort to reduce fitout churn and material waste. Our contribution showcases products engineered for circularity, designed for repair, longevity, and adaptability, alongside innovative materials from our brand partners."
Iver and Southern Design Group
"Our main focus on our installation was to try and focus on sustainability aspect. The door hardware where we can is made of recycled brass and is designed to last especially with our new PVD finishes. Even our display was made out of paper, to be used again and again and transported easily."
Loam
"Loam's installation is both a celebration of the capabilities of Australian brands and aims to highlight the importance in supporting Australian design - not only to champion local industry, but to elevate standards of quality and sustainable practice across the sector and beyond."
Myaree Ceramics
"We are about creative play in the design world. Our installation incorporates elements from our Italian heritage, the Italian landscape and its progressive design capability."
Stylecraft
"Our latest installation celebrates the creativity and craftsmanship inherent in Australian-designed and manufactured furniture. Our team were thrilled to witness firsthand how thoughtful design resonates with both industry professionals and the wider community."
